Stephen Shimek is a Los Angeles based director and co-founder of the independent film production company, Escapology.

Stephen brings decades of hands-on experience in video editing, motion graphics, and post-production. He works at an expert level in Adobe Premiere and After Effects, with extensive experience delivering polished 2D animation and VFX compositing across a wide range of formats. He's also highly proficient across the broader Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and Audition, which allows him to move fluidly between disciplines and support projects at every stage of production.

The director of over 13 features spanning countless genres, Stephen has worked steadily in the film industry since making his directorial debut in 2007. He is most well known for directing the Miranda Green Mystery trilogy, the second of which, Murder at the Embassy, was released in theaters earlier this year.
